· 4 min read · PBCards

Last updated: 16 October 2026. This is our running calendar of Japanese Pokémon card releases. We update it whenever a date is confirmed or a new set is announced, and we mark clearly what is official and what has only been reported. If you're new to Japanese cards, our complete guide to Japanese Pokémon cards explains how the sets and codes work.

Upcoming Japanese releases

Date Release Type Status
16 October 2026 30th CELEBRATION Card Set Special product Out now
27 November 2026 Aura Seeker (M7) – Japanese name: Hadou Seeker Main expansion Date reported, first cards shown officially
19 February 2027 MEGA x MEGA Parade High Class Pack Date reported, first cards shown officially
Not dated First ex★ (ex Star) sets New series Series announced, no sets dated

"Reported" means the date comes from reliable industry sources such as PokeBeach, but The Pokémon Company hasn't published it yet. Dates in Japan rarely move once they've been reported, but we only call them confirmed when they're official.

Aura Seeker (M7)

Aura Seeker is reported for Friday 27 November 2026 and will be the next main expansion of the Mega Evolution era. Pokémon has already shown Riolu, Mega Lucario Z ex and Sigilyph ex from the set, and compiled card lists number Mega Lucario Z ex as 057/078, which points to a 78-card main set. The Japanese name, Hadou Seeker, refers to the aura energy – hadou – that Lucario is known for.

Pokémon usually announces a main set four to five weeks before release, so the official details are likely to arrive in late October. We'll publish a full set guide with box contents and chase cards before release. Pre-orders appear in our Japanese Pokémon collection as soon as we can offer them.

MEGA x MEGA Parade

MEGA x MEGA Parade is reported for Friday 19 February 2027 as the next High Class Pack – the premium format with 10 cards in every pack and, according to the reports, one hit card per pack. On 31 August 2026, Pokémon's own video from the World Championships showed four Mega Attack Rare cards that are attributed to this set: Mega Greninja ex, Mega Zygarde ex, Mega Darkrai ex and Mega Rayquaza ex. The set is reportedly built around Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y, but no cards of those have been shown yet.

30th CELEBRATION Card Set

Released on 16 October 2026 as part of the 30th anniversary: nine regional sets from Kanto to Paldea, each with three foil starter Pokémon promos and two 30th CELEBRATION (M6a) booster packs. Read our 30th CELEBRATION set guide for the cards in the main set.

ex★ (ex Star)

At the 2026 World Championships, Pokémon announced ex★ (ex Star) as the series that follows the Mega Evolution era, teased with Raikou, Entei and Suicune. No sets or dates have been announced yet. We'll add them here as soon as they are.

How Japanese releases usually work

  • Main expansions roughly every two months. They almost always launch on a Friday.
  • A High Class Pack around the turn of the year. The premium set with more cards per pack.
  • Special sets and products in between. Anniversary sets, starter products and Pokémon Center exclusives.

Pre-orders for Japanese sets typically open a few weeks before release, and popular sets can sell out before they arrive. If a box you want is sold out, you can sign up on the product page to hear when it's back.
